Brita has 50 years of professional experience in household water filters, and in order to take it to the next level, Brita often extracts filter element samples from growth lines for quality monitoring. The independent and well-known German TUV inspection agency often conducts quality tests on Brita water filters and filters. TUV monitors the components of Brita water filters year-round and issues them with food grade certification.Despite Britas high quality standards, you will still see small black particles in its filtered water. This black particle comes from activated carbon, one of the aforementioned filter materials. The granular activated carbon we use is made from coconut shells.Just like all natural products, the material of coconut shells is influenced by natural conditions. You may have some experience with the coke used in daily barbecues. You have noticed that dry coke is easily broken, and the bottom of each bag of coke is fine powder. This phenomenon also occurs in our filter cartridges, especially during the transportation process from the factory to the store and finally to the hands of consumers, constantly stirring. This will cause a portion of carbon to be rubbed and scraped down into the water you drink, and the phenomenon you see is mostly black fine particles at the bottom of the pot.These particles have no negative health effects, and if you ingest them, they will be naturally excreted without any changes. Due to the high adsorption capacity of activated carbon, the items (substances) adsorbed by it will not be able to separate from the activated carbon during the removal process. Even activated carbon can continue to adsorb harmful substances in the digestive tract. For this reason, activated carbon tablets (capsules) are often used by doctors as natural remedies for treating dysentery.Although there is a filter screen designed at the bottom of the filter element to filter out these small carbon particles, if the filter screen is selected too fine, it will affect the filtration speed and even be too slow to accept.So, as mentioned earlier, some small carbon particles smaller than the filter may occasionally run out.
