Offering this vintage, Le Creuset Enzo Mari “La Mama” enameled cast iron dutch oven and lid. Model number #26; 5½QT capacity in “Burnt Sienna” color. Having built-in, continuous enameled handle and finial knob on lid. Made in France. Circa 1970s. Measures approximately 13”W handle-to-handle x 7”H to top of finial; 10” diameter (without handles) x 4.5” (without lid); weighing 9lbs 13oz before packing. Condition as pictured. Enamel chips to outside edge of lid and corners of handles; no obvious enamel damage to pot exterior. Interior bottom of pot shows signs of use with missing, worn or thinning enamel; pitting exposing cast iron bottom; rough or porous texture to inside bottom and partway up curved side. This condition is very common with early Le Creuset enamelwear and is a sign of its authenticity and age. All condition issues are photographed so please review closely. This item is non-refundable and not returnable. In 1972 Italian designer Enzo Mari (1932-2020) was commissioned by Le Creuset to design a bespoke line of cookware. “La Mama” line was born featuring its signature dutch oven with distinctive, Modernist domed lid and unique T-shaped handles which became the line's trademark. Enzo Mari (1932-2020) was an Italian modernist artist and furniture designer who is known to have influenced many generations of industrial designers. “Mari believed that ‘ethics is the goal of every project.’ He didn’t want to create objects, he wanted to create models for a different society, for a different way of producing and living.
